DR MARY KAYE SIEBERT​

Facilitator

Dr. Mary Kaye Siebert is the Director of Instructional Services for USD 320 Wamego Schools in Kansas. She has served in this position for the past 16 years. Prior to taking this position she taught sociology and psychology for 15 years. While serving as the Director of Instructional Services, Mary Kaye has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to quality leadership and school improvement. She works with a diverse group of teachers and administrators to help identify potential leaders, aligning strengths of those individuals to tasks at hand, and cultivating leadership capacity in those she works with. In this district level position, Mary Kaye is responsible for the planning, coordinating and overseeing many K-12 projects/processes such as curriculum revision, research based instructional strategies and assessments for student achievement and school improvement, district accreditation, and the mentor program for induction of new teachers in the district.

In addition to her work as the Director of Instructional Services, Mary Kaye has served as an instructor for Kansas State University’s two-year comprehensive master’s degree program (Leadership Academy) which partners with area schools to deliver a high caliber field-based leadership academy to teachers who wish to pursue a graduate degree in Educational Leadership.

Mary Kaye is a Courage & Renewal (C&R) facilitator with the Center for Courage & Renewal (CCR), which is based on the work of Parker J. Palmer. She works with school districts interested in strengthening school culture using The Leading Together program, an offering of the Center for Courage & Renewal (CCR), focused on strengthening adult relational trust schools. In addition, Mary Kaye has offered numerous multi-day Courage to Teach & Lead retreats focusing on personal and professional renewal.

Mary Kaye holds a Ph.D. and MS Degree in Curriculum & Instruction, and a BS degree in Secondary Education.
